As I'm sure everyone already knows, Brandon and I welcomed our little boy, Corbin James Yule, on June 4, 2011 at 5:32 pm. He weighed 5 lbs. 5 oz. and was 17.5 inches long. We were a little worried as to how big he would be because he came to our family 5 weeks early. Needless to say we weren't prepared in the slightest. We didn't have our hospital bags packed, the car seat in the car, let alone everything put away in the nursery. And yet he came. We aren't sure what caused Corbin to come so fast, but we were excited to be able to hold our little man in our arms. Because he was born so early he spent his first week and a half in the N.I.C.U at the Billings Clinic (where I had been life flighted when I went into labor). He was a very healthy little boy, he was mostly monitored to make sure he could regulate his temperature and eat enough to keep his energy up.
Our Little Guy Moments After He Was Born
Corbin did have to have an feeding tube for a couple of days. He would get too tired while he ate so this allowed him to still get the calories he needed to grow and sustain himself but still conserve his energy.
Finally ready to come home from the hospital. As it is with most babies, Corbin did loose some weight after he was born. His lowest weight was 4 lbs. 13 oz. He really was our "Little" Guy.
Corbin has been doing great since we've been able to have him home. He has impressed his doctors with his progress. He is gaining weight and growing so long.
Brandon and I couldn't be happier with our new little addition to the family. He is a very well behaved baby. He is so aware of his surroundings and loves to move around. He never sits still. He has also surpassed any expectation we could have for him. When he was only 2 weeks old he rolled over from his tummy to his back. I thought it was just a fluke and shrugged it off. But he has been very adamant to show us that he means business and has continued to roll over. He also holds his head up and even starts to scootch himself across his tummy time mat. Every new milestone he reaches shows us how truly blessed we are to have Corbin in our lives and want to thank everyone for your love and support. We couldn't do it without you!
